I think email notifications got enabled for subscribed topics? To disable:
User Control Panel -> Board preferences -> Edit notification options

I used to get email notifications but then they stopped. Glad they are back.

Using Chrome, it seems like usernames and post titles are invisible unless you mouse hover them
