I like that cartoon. It does highlight what we all are trying to do. Some of us are better at filling that hole with the appropriate shape. I think I may have finally found one of the few pieces that fits. We will see.

There is only one thing that fills the hole in the chest. Like many have said before, it's a "God sized hole" so only God can fill it...
Let the bashing begin.....Stirred the pot on this one...:)

Seems like the existentialist problem to me.
My best solution, so far, has been to banish it from my thinking whenever it appears and think about something more useful, like how to cut a perfect dovetail. Time far better spent IMHO.

Which god? Ra? There are millions to choose from. It was clever of the Jewish/Christian/Muslim religion to not have a name for their god.

Is the hole chaos?
http://bigthink.com/videos/creative-types-embrace-chaos
Or is it the unfathomable complexity of it all that makes us want to fill it with something understandable?

I'd like to suggest that different people have differently shaped holes (perhaps according to the four MBTI types) and that they need to fill it in different ways.

This is beginning to sound like a discussion of pornography.

My interpretation is that this relates to some fundamental unease with the human condition. I like the solution described in the comic because it teaches playful acceptance of the condition instead of trying to fix what can't be fixed.
