Hi! I'd like to get some help from the more knowledgeable investors here. I live in Germany and would like to invest my funds (around 50.000€) in the form of a Permanent Portfolio as I like the investment strategy. How exactly would I go about setting it up? I get the distribution, but how do I actually go about putting this into action? What do I buy here? Some pointers on what to watch out for would also be much appreciated. I have read a lot, but will practically lose my investment virginity with this step and I'd like it not to hurt. ;-)

I presume you've read about how to implement the PP outside the US, e.g. http://earlyretirementextreme.com/wiki/ ... ide_the_US
So in Germany you'd need

25% total German stock market

25% long term German bonds

25% sovereign money market

25% gold bullion
My understanding is that there are DAX index funds and 30 year German government bonds are convenient to transact. I haven't researched specifics, though.
If you haven't already you should look at Marc De Mesel's blog. He operates out of Belgium and has done a lot of work on the Eurozone PP:

Yes, thank you. That's what I was looking for. I'll need to take a look at Marc De Mesel's blog. Do you have any pointers on where to buy gold?

Not within Germany. In the US there are many options ranging from large internet/mail order ( http://www.apmex.com/ ) to small retail shops ( http://ajpm.com/ ).
