Hey Jean,
I'd be interested in top rope too if others are. I only have a harness and climbing shoes though. Are there local clubs we could borrow/rent gear from? I'd be happy to chip in.

A few harness is great.
Renting is usually expensive. I probably have friends that could lend me a rope. I could also use a new rope, so buying a second one isn't out of the question.
You can belay, you can cook, you can hang out and have a drink of your choice.

I think even just for hanging out it’s 101% worth it

I once shared a belay stance on Donner Summit with a guy rope-gunning for his team whose leg was prosthetic below the knee. Just sayin'.

I really miss climbing. I am not sure what happened but I was rock climbing and after that my big toe was swollen and it was painful. The doctor said it's a ruptured joint capsule, but after that it has never been ok. I've been to other doctors and they say I have arthrosis, they said they can fuse my joint in a few years which sounds terrible. Sometimes I have a strong pain and the thing is that I have to bend my toe in the shoe and it has to carry the weight. I know people climb without arms and legs, maybe there's a way.
Otherwise I would be happy to join if I manage to come in July.

I wouldn't want to pressure you into doing any thing you don't feel like doing. You are welcome even if you don't climb. Even for myself, it's more about hanging out in a nice place for me, and climbing is just a way to attact people there to hang out

Of course, if you wan't to climb at some point, there are probably route that wouldn't require you to charge your toe in a way that hurts.

Would 19th to 27th of july work for all people interested?
Please tell which of the two week ends works best for you, so that we can make one of those the center piece.

Thanks for proposing some dates, Jean!
I'm good for either weekend.

Is this right that Bern is the city to get to in order to arrive at your place?

Bern is less than 30 minutes away by public transport.
Bienne is closer, but I'm not sure flixbus or eurobus goes there, but it is easy to go to by train.

You could stay several week in my woodland, but I don't know If you'de get a good idea of switzerland from there

Its one hour walk to the closest bus stop.
Sleep outside means portable shelter for me, so tent is included.
Is there a river, pond or another water source in your woodland or around to have a daily swim? July's likely going to be hot. I think I will write you a private message when I gather bunch of questions not to clutter the conversation here.

I'm interested. I've never climbed outdoors, but I have done top rope and bouldering. I'd like to be kept in the loop for this. Either weekend works for me.

Just writing to let you know that I’m still interested. Any dates you prefer work for me, as long as I can sort out the logistics.

I'm definitely interested in this, with a preference for the 27th (but available both dates). I can boulder, top rope and belay and would also enjoy going on day hikes!
