A split followed by a stock buyback would be a good move, eh?

As far as I know the people at Apple don't believe in splits. Then again they used to not believe in dividends either. But I don't see one coming right now really.

Many stocks have been run up lately, so it was time to see what might still qualify as viable buys in my dividend growth world.

Common stocks: LMT 4.1%, AVA 4.4%, MAT 3.4%, MSFT 3.2%
REITs: WPC 5.2%, O 5.2%, & SNH 6.4%
MLPs: WPZ 6.5%, KMP 6.5%, NSH 9.2%

The common stocks are "in the range", but not screaming buys. For instance, it's really hard to spring for LMT right now when I know that it yielded 5+% last year, yet the extrememly favorable dividend growth rate continues to hold.

The REITs, by contrast, represent good dividend growth value right now. Normally I throw in OHI and exclude O, but OHI has become relatively expensive and O just announced a secondary offering, so you can get it at 2012 prices.

My MLP choices are high-yield, modest dividend growth. Their dividend growth rates should continue to beat inflation and their current yield is high enough to reward the risk.

If you've been itching to buy some mREITs (and who hasn't ), AGNC is going to be selling at a big discount tomorrow.

At least with the dip, I'll pick up more shares when the dividends DRIP this week.

$23 held overnight on AGNC. Maybe it's a bottom for the mREITs?

I'm watching BPT.

Dang, AGNC DRIP'd yesterday. I really should pay more attention.

I have a 1/17/2015 PUT on LNKD, 04/16/2014 CALL on $VIX, and 09/30/2014 PUT on SPY. The later two have been going against me this week.

I cashed some modest gains this week, getting out of most of the positions I'd been in before reading up on ERE/Dividends. Sold JBLU (+12%), LUV (+20.5%), and RZG (+17.6%). I'm still sitting on one loser I got into too early (NBG -30%), but it's in my Roth so I'm fine with holding it long.

I'm now debating on wether to get this money back in action on some speculation (I'm weary of the next few months), or just staying conservative and sitting on cash until I feel good about the market again.

Struggling to find buys after the recent run-up in mid-October. I picked up some additional TIP and some KO, as it's been relatively stagnant (particularly compared to PEP), and put some money in VLU (utility ETF). I'm keeping an eye on WMT, GIS, JNJ and IBM. I own some JNJ but always hesitated to add more as it's just gone straight up since I bought and seems overvalued.

Agreed. I'm starting to think about substantially paring back my positions, as there will be a pullback once the market believes the FED is close to slowing the money flow. Probably won't sell until December or January, but I want to make sure I have time to ruminate on this.

Ok, the market has run up, but MORL has come back down. It is starting to approach it's 52 week low. Any thoughts? Some of you have purchased this before.

I'm relatively new to dividend investing, but I doubled my position in MORL last week @ $17.30. I believe my initial position was bought around $18.50.

Sold INTC. Whenever a company guides lower, only 15% of stock prices will rise within a year, so holding does not provide good odds.

Stocks that, while I wouldn't necessarily bet against them, seem to have more downside potential than upside right now, so I'd want to tighten my mental stop loss: PEP, JNJ, PG, & VZ.

Nothing that I watch is looking like a screaming buy at the moment, though WPC & O are at the top of my list for being reasonable purchases.

[edit: I found an error in my data and removed SNH from the tightened stop loss list]

GGN @ $8.96 ... Told myself I'd buy some when dividend yield got back over 15%.

MORL is dipping more than its component parts today.

I've had a standing order in for GLD when it dipped under $118. Now I'm wondering if I should lower the price.

With the market getting hammered over the past few days, anyone got any juicy buys on their radar?

I've been waiting to pull the trigger on more JNJ (and will pick some up if it dips to ~85).

I'm focused on emerging markets, as they have done poorly the last two years and this downturn in the developed markets will probably help them get close to a bottom. Especially, if we get close or pass a 10% drop in the market.

These are some long-term investment ideas I'm looking at:
- DVYE (emerging market dividend ETF) - down quite a bit with a nice dividend over 4% and a smaller expense ratio for an emerging markets fund
- TUR (Turkish ETF) - Down almost 50% and long-term prospects are good for Turkey. Unless Erdogan tries to become a complete dictator.
- SQM (Sociedad Quimica y Minera de Chile) - Down over 50% because part of their business is fertilizer, which got hit hard. This will come back some. They also control a large percentage of the world's lithium supplies. This contrarian buy will provide a 4.2% dividend as I wait for the capital gains.

I've recently bought NUGT as a long term.

I'm still buying GDXJ on small dips. I like SLV too.

I bought some IAG, which has a very nice dividend for the miner sector.

I am also shorting SPY with puts.

I'm also buying a little JO with next pay check to get exposure to coffee.
