GO WITH THE TRAILER! I have always had big pick up trucks ( think F250/F350)...but I do contractor work, as well as always moving material, trash tools. Recently I have been doing the math of getting rid of the pick up, and getting a van and a small car. I can't make the numbers work...What i decided to do, is when my current truck needs replacing, I will get a MUCH smaller tacoma, and a trailer. IT will easily pull 6k lbs. I don't have to insure it, and the tacoma albeit small, will run forever, holds value, and still has a small bed for those spur of the moment pic ups. Its much cheaper to just pull with your car, as long as you dont intend on towing literal TONS of material! GOOD LUCK!
