"Owning" shiny poorly built things you didn't earn does get you the respect/envy/attention of other fools. I can see how that would increase self esteem of most people.
Let's not paint all debt with the negative brush, however. I love some of my debt and it does increase my self esteem! :D

*Margin at brokerage: 1.13%

*15 month balance transfer from credit cards: 0%

*student loan (just went down): 2.3% before tax deduction
Strongly considering getting a ARM mortgage/HELOC, but since I'm likely moving not sure the transaction costs will be justified.
