Which over-the-counter medications have you stocked up on?

Test rollout slower than promised
Anyone know if the test rollout has occurred in the US?

We were supposed to have 7500 tests available in California by now but I haven’t seen a surge in confirmed cases across the nation to suggest any testing has occurred.

There is a news story in the LA Times that says doctors and nurses are complaining they don’t have tests yet in the GLA as of last night.

Perhaps the promised tests have s long processing time?

India stopped exporting acetaminophen, B vitamins, and some other drugs (there should be a full list published somewhere), so if you use those regularly you should stock up.

Colorado Governor Polis mentioned we can do 300 tests a day here, and they're working to expand that. He also mentioned there'd be no fee for testing here in CO. I have to say I'm impressed with how they're handling it here so far.

I've only stocked up on ibuprofen and general cold medicine, as well as over the counter benzoyl proxoide (unrelated to covid but something I'd want if in quarantine for a long time). I don't take any prescriptions myself so no worries there.

Now that we have a confirmed cased in my county, I'm a little more worried. I'm going to come up with some infection control procedures with how I enter the house as well as do a final run to stock up on frozen vegetables and meats. I'm also limiting my time outside the house to either strict necessities or small gatherings with close friends or family.

Maybe something against fever in case it gets too high.
I keep hearing the girl upstairs with her hacking dry cough and think about what otc drugs I would want if I were in her shoes. We don't normally take meds so I don't know a lot about this kind of stuff.

Today I got two bottles of Nyquil, two boxes of Mucinex, two boxes of CVS severe cold formula (just realized it says "compare to Mucinex") and two bottles of advil from a guy who sells the dented box shelf pulls for $1 each.

Just got some inside info that a hospital in NOLA has quietly cleared a floor in prep for the coming surge in coronavirus cases. This information hasn't been released to the public yet and I'm not sure if other hospitals have done so as well. There are 0 confirmed cases in Louisiana... but also, to my knowledge, no tests.

On the other hand, the surgery schedule remains full at the hospital I'm working at (the vast majority of pre-scheduled surgeries are non-emergent).

Ego, she hasn’t recovered yet? It’s been awhile right? Scary.

@sclass, it has been a while. Not a fun few weeks, I'd imagine.

News services updated the count to 74 cases and 11 deaths, but the web site was not changed.

@georgetheoriginal - that looks like almost all the cases of death have been in Washington - if you compare it to the worldometer stats https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

Not sure if this was posted, interactive map updated every few minutes, probably the most accurate figure for total infections worldwide:

Also, I expect that this topic will have the most posts in the history of ERE boards.

New cluster in Boston metro from a recent Biogen conference.

Also, I'm starting to come around the anti-travel ban view. While the US travel ban probably added sufficient friction to prevent more clusters of cases coming in from China, the fact is that the pro-travel ban / country-based quarantine environment incentivizes countries to not test.

Exhibit A: Japan quarantines travelers coming in from South Korea (and China), leading to increased tensions. But the only reason we know of SK being a hotspot is because they are aggressively testing unlike, say, the US.

Whelp, my employer has told us all to work from home until further notice. At least I won't have to worry about picking it up during my commute.

Strange... 10% of Iran's parliament and one of their vice-presidents is infected.

Yikes, Colorado has 8 cases now, and 3 are in my county. All are travel related.

Are any of you practicing social distancing on your own? WHO and CDC both say high risk individuals should basically stay inside. However Denver Health Authorities has told everyone to continue with their lives then equated this to the flu. :? I've stopped arguing with flu people tbh.

Another thing that I've been trying to watch for is how they're spinning the propaganda here. NYT and others have been publishing a lot of articles about how quarantine is class warfare or whatever. The conspiracy theory part of me wonders if this is a deliberate attempt to cover up the botched isolation job you're seeing in the states by spinning it as "well we couldn't have done better because poor people."

Then again that might be me veering off into crazy territory.

Trevor Bedford did a forward simulation and projected that the King County, Washington cluster will expand to 1100 active infections by March 10 and 2000 by March 15.

We shall see.
