<t>I gave up my behemoth mountain bike for the Trek 7.5FX and LOVE my bike. I never cared for the bendover posture of road bike warriors (nor the fear of dropping and cracking a $3K+ carbon fiber frame), so the upright geometry suits me fine. I would recommend getting a professional fitting, though ...

<t>My ex wanted children and was from a big family; being the elder of two sisters felt like more than enough parenting for my lifetime. It took me quite a few years to outgrow the emotional baggage of a dysfunctional childhood and I didn't aspire to passing along neuroses to another generation. My ...

<t>Thank you all, for sharing your opinions and experiences. I've opened a Treasury Direct account and am looking forward to earning more interest on my savings than I would through CDs or by leaving the money in my credit union savings account. And not having instant access to the money reinforces ...

Holidays then become a useful vehicle for parting us from ou...

<t>Regarding Chad's comments about questioning diets that people push through passion rather than a rational approach -<br/> I agree that it behooves us to question idealogies, products, services, and the like that are marketed through the use of passion, fear tactics, etc. I also question a lot of ...

Thanks for the clarification. I agree, food can be a good social lubricant. And the thing about potlucks is, very often there is more than enough to go around, even if not everyone brings something. Does anyone understand the economic theory behind that phenomenon? <grin>

I am new here and looking forward to meeting those of you planning to attend this Saturday. Writing down questions is a good suggestion; thanks. Book giveaways/lending - always appreciated.
Would someone clarify if this is a potluck?
Thanks!
