Re: Skills required for long term sailing.

For 6 months or so I would get a basic sailing qualification, and look at travelling on other peoples yachts. Firstly find someone to go sailing with and see if you like it, that's fairly easy just contact any sailing club and ask if there's someone who would take you out. The Royal Yachting Associa...

Re: Crazylemon's Journal

Hmm I don't envy you with that career decision. I suppose the most variety at the end point, comes from working in an urban hospital with a high turnover of patients as opposed to the more rural family centred units where you see the same people with similar problems. I also find a lack of work/family/societal obligations for the day, so my mind is my own.

Re: Crazylemon's Journal

With the switch form Daylight Saving time I am now cycling back in the complete darkness. This is both Exhilarating and terrifying with my probably not up to the task lights. I am visible enough with my trade union Hi-Viz (Although that probably makes me all the more tempting a target for some driv...

http://monevator.com/the-problem-with-low-interest-rates/ Relevant albeit from the other side of the Atlantic; seems to think that the pension deficits will be the primary motivator to raise rates here. It'll be interesting to see how things unfold as with the exception of Brexit Carney is being ver...

@BRUTE,Steveo73 I didn't say I enjoyed instant coffee, sometimes it's your only coffee choice in the UK. That being said things are changing quite fast.

@Jacob thanks that was an interesting thread.

I wonder if instant coffee is as good for you; I remember reading that it was high in acrylamide.

Re: Coffee: is it good for you, bad, or it depends?

I love the smell of coffee, but I tend to find the taste somewhat disappointing in comparison to the smell. Very true. A very good cup does come close. You'll have to experiment to find a consistent process (like Breaking Bad ; lots of people have already found their process and you don't have to s...

Very true.

Why do you despise antivirus? I've always paid for it, and wondered if it was ever doing much good.

I hadn't come across these before. They look great! What's the brightness on them like? I do quite a bit of cycling on country roads and it's handy to forewarn other traffic you're there before they come around corners.
