Re: Saving 10 years (near the end) journal

Hi there Guys, The new craft space sounds very interesting. We might drop by on the tandem now that the weather has improved. We are busy building LM a new shed for her printing press. Next week is going to be busy with this one. Well done with the rental. Sounds like you are well in your way. BM

Re: Saving 10 years (near the end) journal

Wooohoooooooooo.

Not long now.

We should catch up soon. We've been flat out at this end, moving things forward. We're not as close as you guys though.

I'll drop you a PM shortly. I think a cake and cuppa are in order.

Keep us all posted.

Re: Hello from the UK

Hi Gudrun,

Welcome to the forum.

We should all catch up at some point. Myself and LM head up and down the country a fair bit on our adventures. Meeting up with Saving10years and her husband was a fun way to spend an afternoon.

Re: Buying stuff...

Hi Ginger1. What make and model is the car? I might be able to help with some advice. I do all of our car maintenance. I don't enjoy it, but it has been a big financial help over the years. Youtube is now your friend with these jobs. I had to replace a front wheel bearing recently. Detailed info was...

Re: Our UK ERE Adventure

Hi Ginger1, Thanks for taking the time to post. I've been at this for about 15 years. I had a fair few setbacks as you can see. Whatever you do, don't give up. Talk to the group and other ERE type people. I will give you any info that you think might help wrt the UK Let me know. Basically I had to m...

Re: Saving 10 years (near the end) journal

It's going to be interesting swapping thoughts. LM will be back from her travels on Monday evening and will give you a call early in the week if that suits.

Looking forward to checking out the teardrop.

Re: Ex-lawyer

Hey Did,

Welcome to the forum.

Well done for taking the big step. I'm still working and find that I relate to less than 1% of the people I work with.

Looking forward to hearing about your new adventures.

Re: Our UK ERE Adventure

Hi Folks, Thanks for the comments. @ Hildred and Chenda We spend about £585 each per month at the moment. We do run three vehicles though. We live in a remote location. Not ideal in some respects, but ok in others. We also have a camper van. As and when we RE we will lose one of the daily vehicles, ...

Our UK ERE Adventure

Right folks, I suppose I should take some time to describe my / our ERE adventure. I’ve been following other people’s blogs, and it’s only fair that I contribute. I hope that I don’t ramble on too much. If I do, let me know. Here is a link to our introduction. http://forum.earlyretirementextreme.com...

Re: Saving 10 years (near the end) journal

Looking forward to the meet-up.

I'm looking forward to looking at the teardrop. We'll bring the camper along.

Anybody else out there close to Warwickshire fancy it?

Sounds like a cup of tea is in order. Let us know it's suitable. We can bring the camper along.

Do you own a teardrop btw?

Re: Saving 10 years (near the end) journal

That is a surprise. We are very close.

We are on The Fosse just outside Leamington. Yup, an ERE meetup sounds like a plan.

I'd PM you but for some reason I'm unable to at the moment, but I can receive them.

Hi STY, Man, you've got a lot going on at the moment, but it sounds as though you are heading in the right direction. I like your approach to the rental properties. We are also nervous about investing and find property more appealing / less frightening. What part of the UK are you from? We are right...

Re: Hi from the UK..................

Hi Folks, Thanks for the feedback. We have a big interest in teardrop campers. That was on the list of things to build in the future. We have a couple of classic cars, and a teardrop would suit us perfectly. Classic cars are a great place to put your pennies if you buy the right car and do your own ...

Hi from the UK..................

Let me introduce myself. I intend to keep this slightly vague, as I do not want my employer or colleagues to know what I am doing. I am a mid 40s male, with a mid to late 30s partner (LM). We live in the UK. I have inadvertently been in the ERE path for many years. It’s maybe not so extreme now thou...
