Germans are indeed very good at coming up with excuses to drink more beer.
But radishes taste great raw, I think especially when they're moderately bitter! For a salad, you can mix them with fresh cucumbers.

I put black radishes in soups and stir fries like any other vegetable.

Er, uhm, didn't you space out your plantings so the radishes wouldn't all mature at the same time? Like maximum 20-30 seeds per week for two people?

We went with oven roasting them. Slice into pieces, cover in oil, salt, pepper, some spices. Same procedure as for potatoes. Takes care of any bitterness and tastes remarkably similar to the potato base. It's possible to use up a lot of radishes quickly that way.

I eat them raw, sometimes with salt and butter, I could eat a lot of them (probably a pound a day) this way.
But I've been used to it as a child.

As someone mention earlier, for me, the seed pods taste nicer than the radishes - a slightly milder taste. I only grow them because the grow so quickly, gives me something to look at during the first few weeks of daily watering - but after reading a few recipes on here, might actually try eat a few..
