You can make good side money but according to the thread, the potential liability is too large.

It used to be more lucrative. Uber recently slashed the rates so the pay is not as good after all expenses.

Still good during peak times: rush-hour and major events (sports, holidays, concerts, etc.)

I have talked to about a dozen people who drive for Uber and they have payment tiers. So if you drive a certain number of hours you get a bump in your payout amount. In my area they make between $15-20/hr plus tips but it depends on the time of day. Some days you have less riders than others.

Check out some of their competition too. We have Lyft, Roadie and Sidecar out here.

i've been doing it some......It's not bad during peak hours. I've figured that I'm making about 20.00 per hour right now.

Honestly, I may just stop and instead focus more on my coding classes online while cutting expenses a little. Driving around Boston sucks your energy....

This is an interesting. I just heard that Uber is suggesting that people use their service as a way to pay off their car notes. What do you guys think of this?
