Pretty good, thanks for sharing. I'm very romantic for the idea of living aboard a sailboat...a life at sea. But at heart I'm a desert rat, and don't really care for the water. But many of the principles of living aboard a ship can be applied to living in a tiny house in the desert.

This video encompasses the "extreme" side of ERE, whereas a lot of other threads here focus mainly on the "retire early" aspect. I love stuff like this. Keep it coming EREers.

I spend 3-4 months/year living on a very similar sailboat, and it's amazing how inexpensively it can be done. My total investment into the boat, including some luxuries (like solar and refrigeration) is around $5000, and carrying costs (insurance, off-season storage, and ongoing maintenance) are around $1500/year. If you can afford ERE on shore you can definitely afford it on a boat.

Do you have a good boatyard on the Baja side of the Sea of Cortez where you feel comfortable leaving it for the off season? Do you stay in a marina or on the hook? Any problems with theft while you are ashore? Anything interesting happen this season?

There are aq number of good boatyards on the baja side, but it's cheaper (and an easier drive) on the mainland side. I keep my boat on a trailer in dry storage in san carlos for around $65/month. Absolutely no problems with theft while ashore. It's only a 70 mile crossing to the Baja side.

depends on what you mean by interesting. I played tug-of-war with sea lions, snorkeled with whale sharks, dove with 200 lb grouper, caught a shark and a huge jack Crevalle, and sat out a 3-day 70 knot blow in a nice snug anchorage. Other than that, not much
