Well, sort of. I just Skyped with the Polish couple I hosted last year who I've written about before on the forum--they are on a multi-year tour of North and South America, now 14 months in, and have had a budget of $7/day TOTAL.
As it turns out, they have shrunk that budget in Latin America to $5/day.
They are not ERE--they are strictly (slowly) burning through their savings--but it's inspiring anyway how economical they're able to be on the road, and how resourceful. For example, they worked on a sailboat as a way to maneuver through the Caribbean (as well as earn additional funds).
Anyway, here is their blog (in English), and here are some stats about their trip, and here's their blurb about budget. They're currently in Peru and don't particularly recommend it.
