The London Bridge Trading LBT 3-Day Assault packs are the military issued versions of the Goruck packs. They are very similar even down to the diagonal zipper across the back. They never show up in the Goruck alternative posts on the Gucci-bag websites because military surplus does not pay for links.

The pack they issue Marines (Eagle Industries or Propper FILBE 3-Day Assault packs) are also very good, though slightly different look than the Gorucks. You can often get them for under $20 because so many surplus bags are out there.

Also, they require you to build your own organization system inside the backpack, despite the exorbiant price. Also no water bottle holder, which is a horrific choice IMO. You can add one via the webbing, but it kinda ruins the whole visual appeal of the backpack.
I actually consider that [flexibility] a feature rather than a bug. The backside of the big compartment of the GR2 has MOLLE webbing. You could add your water bottle holder there and keep it inside the pack. I kinda wish the pack just had internal webbing everywhere instead of being forced into their pre-chosen system of pockets. Of course if they ever made that kind of pack, it would cost even more $$$ to add those attachments.

PS: Technically there is a water bottle holder. It's just that the pack is made for camelbacks instead. There's a pocket for that complete with a velcro hole for the hose near the handle.
