I will likely visit Toronto the 1st week of December for work. There are quite some people from Toronto here, so I I am wondering if there is interested in a meetup.
Propose Saturday Dec. 7. But any evening 2-6 Dec. is probably also possible.

I'm up for it

December 7th works for me. Let's set a time and place as the date approaches.

Right now I am balancing my need for anonymity vs meeting like minded people on the board. It's a difficult dilemma.

The anonymity helps me tremendously in unfiltered thought and writing, which has been such a crucial part of my ere process and growth.

I really do appreciate the effort with these meet ups (I can be quite sociable despite my solitude explorations and yearnings), and I promise at some point (possibly next year?) that not only will be reaching out to meet others here but I hope to also lead/help in organizing something more systematic and permanent, like a Meetup.com support group for minimalists/simplicity life stylers and aspiring early retirees.

So this time around, I won't be attending, but I look forward to meeting you all in the near future.

@MBGI, I understand and of course respect your decision, I always like to read you well thought and philosophical "essays"!

Yes, I live in the Netherlands, but will visit Toronto for work. Last 3 years I went to Toronto a couple of times. I book my own flights, so when I travel for work, I always try to have 1 or 2 days to myself.

@Chipamogli and Pooablo, yes, we'll set a time and place nearer to Dec. the 7th.
Perhaps more people will be able to join.

I'm tentative, should be around but it will probably depend on my mood come December .

I will definitely try to come! I live in Hamilton..with proper preparation maybe I can do the 4 hour bike ride...but I will probably pay $20 for the return bus ticket.

Let's go on a giant bike ride, or an awareness campaign where we convert people to the ERE side, or build something awesome..haha.

I'll be in Toronto for work that week and might be able to make it . During the week would work better for me as I wouldn't have to stay extra days. but don't change the date just because of me

So we ended up this afternoon with: Chipamogli, iProgramstuff, Pooablo and myself (Rube).

I don't think I have ever been with 3 other persons at the same time that have a similar view about ERE. So it was really great to see some faces of the forum and have some discussions about ERE, the world, books, DIY, investing, traveling and more

I had a great time meeting everyone today. The conversations and topics that we covered were so delightful. Thank you for organizing this event, rube!

I am looking forward to organizing another event in the next 6 months are so. I always learn so much talking with everyone at the meet-up.
