I ran across this list this morning:
http://intentionalretirement.com/wp-con ... Poster.pdf
While it is directed at people retiring at "standard" ages, it struck me that it was not age-specific at all -- and that there is no reason not to work towards these goals at any age.
Item 5 in particular implies that ERE should be the norm, and 7 that "working" -- i.e., participating in meaningful, productive activity -- during "retirement" should be part of the plan.

Gotta love advice for grandma that starts with a quote from Fight Club.

Dragline, I have laid myself along the 8 habits. They fit (more or less), especially nr 6: explore, dream, discover, choose yes over no, active over passive, adventure over inertia.

And yes, I feel myself happy as Larry. So it must be a good list :)

Printed it and put it on the bulletin board here at our senior apartment complex.

Funny how the rules to live by when you retire are the rules to live by before you retire.
The first may be a quote from Fight Club, but all of them can be found in Fight Club. Such a great movie.

Yes. Fight Club became a cliché, but with a reason.
