Early Retirement Extreme Forums

Hey all,
I'm 46 and live in Livonia. I only discovered the FIRE movement a year or so ago. I'm not quite at ERE's extreme level of frugality, though I certainly aspire to be. I try to balance working toward FI and keeping the wife happy.

I'd push back on the "extreme frugality" part of ERE being a primary goal, as IMO (I'm just some guy, w/e) extreme frugality tends to be a biproduct of owning the systems of inputs and outputs in your life.

I think the point may be more about intentional living through exploring/trying alternative methods of meeting your needs beyond consumerism. Basically expanding your optionality in problem solving beyond "throw money at it".
