Caretaker Gazette

I stumbled across the Caretaker Gazette while reading Jacob's blog a few years ago. https://earlyretirementextreme.com/a-re ... taker.html

Kevin Kelly just blogged about this again the other day on June 5. https://kk.org/cooltools/home-exchanges-2/ He mentions using Home exchange and there was a poster here a year or two ago that was talking about their experience using that site. @Unemployable spends about half his time housesitting and has reported his experience doing so and using various house sitting apps.

I would link to their posts about their experiences but searching the forum via search engines has degraded significantly and I can't seem to find anything anymore.

ETA: The Caretaker Gazette seems like it has some cool opportunities. They post all of their offerings on their profile on twitter. https://twitter.com/Housesitter?s=20

Here is one thread on housesitting: viewtopic.php?p=218711&hilit=housesitting#p218711

@theanimal - the forum search function still seems to work quite well.

I housesat without a permanent address between mid-October and mid-May. I should post a summary to my journal; need to compose my thoughts. (Perhaps it is difficult to search on this topic partly because my comments haven't been all in one place.) It had its low points but in all worked so well that I've kept doing it now that I've moved back.

Housing costs, if you didn't buy before mid-2021 or so, are just idiotic in the US right now, and housesitting was one prong of my response to this. I keep telling myself these things always correct... different topic.
