Forum stops marking messages as read?

Does anyone else has an issue with basically the forum software no longer marking the posts I've already seen as read? It's happened second time to me now (it will probably not fix itself until I go for nuclear option - e.g. delete all cookies, mark everything as read etc.). Is there a gentler fix?

I find this happens to newer posts if you go back and read a fairly old post. I have no fix.

For me it's worse than that - e.g. it's currently happening on this very thread.

Not happening to me. Firefix/Ubuntu 96.0.
Have you done the usual things? Switched it on and off? Deleted your cache and cookies?

I just deleted the cookies. It turns out it's the nuclear option - the feature now works again, but all the posts from the past couple of years I've read are now mark as unread again. The exact same thing happened to me a couple months ago. It's probably some subtle bug in the phpBB or in your particular deployment.
