Is "climate science" a science?

Science is about making verifiable predictions. How are models used for predicting climate change verified for correctness? Does anyone know how the sausage is made - re: verification, and model development in general?

I think it's a trophy to post in topic which going to be closed on this board, so I take this privilege :) .
(I don't mean it in condescending way, I simply like reading online arguments or lack of them or the way they're handled  )

It's climatology under a new name, or a subset of climatology, isn't it? Been around since the Greeks, study of weather conditions over a minimum of 30 years I believe.

It is scientific in its method. Prediction are hard to track on the large timescale at which climate works, and the calculation power and data amount increase so fast, that new predictions are made before the old one are verified. But I wouldn't argue that it invalidates the field.
