My job gives me alot of free time in front of the computer so I thought it'd be nice to finally educate myself on something that I've very little understanding of and curious about. Anyone have any recommendations on what to read or video lectures on learning about options trading. I know it's a risky business and I likely will never do so but it's a fascinating subject.

something that comes to mind, and not because it's necessarily the best but because i heard of it lately. big picture trading has options education and a free trial. how advanced are you? if you're a beginner i'd start with youtube videos tbh there's a lot of free stuff covering the basics, e.g. option greeks. you might consider searching "trading options" on your favorite book piracy website. A couple of books will come up, as any book on options trading has those words in the title so it comes up in searches. it alsmost doesn't matter what book you pick, the basic strategies are the same no matter what spin the author wants to put on them.

I'm a beginner. So far just mutual fund trades and a few long stock trades.

IIRC, there's a also "short" version of Hull that is written for people who can't do math in their head, but I forget what it's called.

No need to buy the newest version. Just get an old used version for a few bucks. The principles remain unchanged.
