Hey folks,

I am new to this whole movement. I am 24 years old and recently got turned onto FIRE by a guy whole lives out of an airplane in the PNW. A couple of weeks ago I created my first budget and am eager to continue learning/doing everything I can to achieve financial independence. If you have any recommendations on books (preferably audio), sites, or videos. Please let me know. Thanks!

For audio, the Mad FIentist podcast is pretty good. For a broader subject matter (FI, unjobbing, stoicism, etc.), I like the Voluntary Life podcast.

A good site that doesn't come up on many "top 10" fire blogs is Living A FI. He documented his time working toward FI until (and after) pulling the ripcord.

Welcome to the forums.

There are a lot of websites.

Besides of course the common ERE and MMM I would definitely recommend Mad Fientist and Living A FI too. Along with those I like Go Curry Cracker and Thoughts From Inside the Box.

I am old school but wanted to share my journey.

At 14, started working
At 18 graduated high school, started investing in stock market every month regardless of market conditions for next 30 plus years
At 22 graduated college
At 27 bought home with 30 year mortgage
At 38 paid off mortgage ,
At 38-51 , 50% of salary invested in market
At 51 -FIREd

Live below your means, stay healthy, don't listen to the critics, follow your heart and don't look back. And have fun.

WElcome!

I could recommend you information material, but it depends on your starting point. How much do you know already about FIRE, ERE, investing?
What are you interested in the most?

Of course, Jacob's 21 day make over plan would be a great start.

Depending on your ERE wheaton level, I could recommend:
Level 5
MMM's Blog
JL-Collin's Blog

Level 6
"Your money or your life" book
MADFientist's Blog (including podcasts)
Living a FI Blog

Level 7
Jacob's book

Hello from NY. Probably should've started a new thread but hey.
