@Moxie - "the participation seems predominantly male" In my experience, men are more likely to express opinions than women. They also tend to be more emphatic in discussions regarding those opinions. So it makes sense that they would be participating more.
I think I am still 31 and will be 32 this summer. I am surprised to read that 60% of the readers are females who for the most part don't post anything. I have ~195k with an ERE goal of ~360k which I hope to reach before I am 35. I have passed my "living only" (not including hobbies or healthcare) milestone which was 180K so I no longer care if I hold my job. I am convinced this will actually make me more valuable to the company, though maybe not my boss, because I don't like face time for it's own sake.
I'm 23 and female. @rufousdog I'm on here because I want to avoid what I see as the trap of conventional career + retirement.
Also, I made a survey, the link is below, as well as in the thread I created for it. Comments on the survey should go to it's thread. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/RB53V2G
30, male, in a relationship (sorry ladies!), and heading for ERE-dom!
It also doesn't surprise me that there are so many females here. As someone who was raised by two females who would have fit in here and had quite a bit to say it really doesn't surprise me at all.
