i use my nails to floss. I have 20 of them, so there is always one ready to be ripped away and used for diverse purposes.

I brush my teeth and floss once daily. No toothpaste. I reuse waxed floss until it frays/breaks (usually 2-3 uses). I gargle with salt water or 1 drop of food-grade peppermint oil in a tbsp. of water. Not for the faint-hearted! This solution also destinks my electric toothbrush. I also have a set of dental tools for scraping plaque and picking out stubborn chunks of former cow as needed.

I’m growing my hair out as a mid-life crisis, bucket-list endeavor. (Cheaper than a Corvette!) It’s shoulder-length, thin and gets greasy easily. I shower every 1-2 days using old bars of hotel soap for everything: hair, body, shaving (single-blade Bic disposable), including washing my merino undergarments while in there. I haven’t installed a garbage disposal in the shower a la Kramer, but am getting closer. When I had shorter hair I didn’t use soap or shampoo in the shower for over a year. Just scrubbed my hair, pits and naughty bits with a washcloth and warm water, which worked fine. It doesn’t work as well with the longer hair, though, hence the hotel soap.

I’ve been using an unscented mineral-salt deodorant (potassium alum) for a few months now and like it. I sweat a good deal, so was initially dubious, but I apply it once daily and it seems to do the trick. People don’t make faces and move away from me in the grocery store at least.

No sunblocks, moisturizers, creams, gels, colognes, turtle waxes, etc.
