@EricG It reads like you believe that the heat and humidity give rise to all of the other ills you listed (violent crime, poverty, etc.). Maybe I’m just not reading that right.
I quite like the heat, and recently I’ve felt a little defensive about how nearly-livable Houston is. I mean, check out our new bike infrastructure! https://houstonbikeplan.org/ Disregard the fact that the city will be underwater in a few generations and that if you leave downtown and drive for two hours in any direction you will still be in Houston. We’ve got job opportunities, fantastic food, a low COL, and man the HVAC business is hot.
