Equities - appear to be overvalued. Possible to beat the market by purchasing "appropriate" sector funds or by purchasing "appropriate" individual stocks. Now, define appropriate.
Bonds - NAV has nowhere to go but down.
Commodities - rocks, ag or metals anyone? Pure speculation vs. investing IMO.

Peer to Peer Lending
I admit that I have no personal experience in the internet lending programs. Looking them over, I can see where a bit of profit could be made from it. I am not totally sure how it works, but I see nothing to say the risk is not completely on the lender putting up the loan. If you did enough of it, then you would have to expect and accept the losses that will be along with the game.
In other types of lending, my experiences were less than desirable. I am not sure I have enough confidence in my fellow man to get into such an investment as the lending. Anymore, some people seem to think it's ok to just walk away and forget their obligations.
