Does the majority actually associate Katrina/Super storms with man-made problems?
Well, considering over 30% of Americans don't even believe climate change is real, and only 42% believe it's caused mostly by human activity...

(Didn't get a chance to read the book, unfortunately. Insanely busy this month. I still have it for another week from the library so maybe I'll get to it. The discussion here makes it seem promising.)

There are actually people who believe it's caused by gay marriage. :(

The most recent surveys indicate that over 75-85% of Americans in virtually all states now believe that global warming has been taking place and 68-82% believe it has been caused by humans. 70%+ now believe that it is a serious problem for the US -- except in Idaho. However, less than 10% in most places see this as an important issue for them personally. See map links here for those and other questions:

Relates to the discussion (Q #4) ...

Archdruid's posts from the last two weeks: Toward a Green Future: The Culture of Biophobia
part 1 http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.com/ ... re-of.html
part 2 http://thearchdruidreport.blogspot.com/ ... ge-of.html

I've been enjoying the direction of Greer's posts over the last couple of months.

Dmitry Orlov did a book review this week that was also related to this topic.
