This is just because we all care about you.....
There are two kinds of motorcyclists, those who have been down and those who are going down. Dress the part.
I love riding motorcycles and have have ridden intermittently for most of my adult life. I have been down twice without significant injury. My boots, helmet and thick clothing saved my ass once.
A $2000 bike is likely the kind of investment that you could get your money back (or more) fairly easily.
Good to hear you are having fun!

Thanks for the concern sshawnn. I'm a very cautious rider. Always wear my gear.
She is a small bike, 2006 Suzuki Boulevard 650, but plenty for me. She had 4600 miles on her when I purchased it a few weeks back. I'm already noticing the difference in gas, 56mpg compared to the 16 mpg with my truck. Big difference.
Stay safe.

Big improvement from last months expenses and the lowest I have had since returning home. Would really like to work on food and gas expenses.
Looks like I will begin working again towards the middle of the month. It will be nice to see an income component to go along with the expenses. It has been a great summer

Hey gang,
Looks like the last time I made a post here was right about the time I started back to work. Don't think I have not continued to follow the teachings I have learned from this blog and the ERE philosophy in general, it continues to be a big part of my life.
It has been a year into post-expat life and although it has gone by quickly it turned out to be a really good year. I didn't start getting back to my ERE roots until the beginning of the year once I was working regularly and moved into my apartment. Feb. is when I began my debt reduction plan of lowering three main expenses; electric, transportation and food. I've done fairly well in reducing these although food expenses are out of hand recently. Two out of three isn't bad though right?
The really big news is my recent real estate purchase. I finally found a foreclosure that I made an offer on and it was accepted! I closed last week and have started the long process of rehabbing this home. You can find the details to this project on my blog: http://www.thestoicinvestor.com Some of you are already visiting, but there may be some new ERE folks that have not had a chance to visit. My journal here fits well with my blog because the work I did in the early days of saving money and paying off my debt (which is chronicled in this journal) is directly responsible for what I'm doing today.
Hope everyone is doing well!
