@ dot_com_vet - It'll be in the pizza restaurant that I work at. Arcade machines aren't completely uncommon in our town yet - a lot of the bars have Silver Strike Bowling or something similar.
I'm also exploring the idea of getting machines set up in the laundromat at the apartment complex I work at, and/or one of the common areas of the apartment complex I live at (this place has a game room with a pool table and foosball table, so it might work OK there if I could be convinced it wouldn't get vandalised).

400% Salary
1% Interest
I suppose I have some investment income streams, but those are in my 401k and Roth IRA accounts. I have a hard time considering that money "real" as I don't intend on touching it for another 40 years.
I'd love to have some alternative income streams, but right now I am pretty swamped. One day I'll start freelancing. One day...

Laundromats and arcades are tough because margins are thin to begin with and both industries are in a general state of decline.
Quick quiz: how many young people do you know that shell out quarters for either?
I'm sure it's possible to make a go of it, but other businesses seem more amenable to new entries.

Kevin, agree with you on that, a lot of laundry is on premise now. Although, I did see a lot of recent immigrants in the laundromat too, so that might be a good target market.
Although, why not just spend less, invest for dividends, and enjoy the day.

Three good bits of advice for sure.
Right now, our streams include both of our full time jobs, scholarships (I'm also going to school full time), wedding photography, dividends, and occasional freelance writing (none this year so far). We're hoping to take DW down to P/T, generate more income from a higher paying job for me once I'm done with school, and increase dividends. Right now, my pet projects are trying to build our wedding photography business and trying to learn Spanish. That one's not really for income purposes, although it does double my chances of finding a K teaching job once I'm done with school.

income streams
Can someone give practical examples of multiple income streams? For example, things you are currently using or doing, or things you have thought of or want to do soon. Anything is good but I would like to learn more about passive income too.
This is the main thing I want to work on right now I think, getting more and diverse income streams.
I know a lot about philosophy, politics, economics, I have had an ERE type lifestyle well before I stumbled upon this website somewhat randomly, etc.
So that's something I want to work on right now. Thanks.

Re: Income streams, what are yours?
Oh, sorry. Looks like I missed this thread and someone merged my last post into this thread or something? I'll have to look this over.

There's a good book called "Multiple Streams of Income" that you may want to check out too.
