I’d be interested again, kettlebell is fine by me. Only day I’m not available for is July 27, will be camping at Starved Rock that day!

I can bring a 16k or 20k bell if something lighter is needed.

I've been meaning to get out there with my 16k and see how the joints do. Hiding from the weather has taken precedence.

Tried a mile walk the 16k bell. I had to juggle between farmers and rack positions. Cardio demand was low, but I was not fast. The constraint is how my joints feel about the offset load.

I'm working more carries into my active rest days. 53lbs for significant distance could be out of my league though.

I did get an important reminder. A kettlebell brought from the cool dry basement, into the warm humid summer night, sweats furiously. It was soaking wet the entire walk.

If you enjoy carrying heavy stuff around from time to time, my boss is looking for someone, 30 usd per hour.

@Jean hahaha, right? This isn't very homeotelic of us...

Is everyone good with shooting for 07/13 at Downers Grove? If weather doesn't cooperate, could try the following weekend.

And we should bring the 53lb kettlebell, but also something more modest as backup - Jacob or Scott able to bring something more moderate? Good point Scott, we can bring a towel or rag to deal with the sweat.

Edited to adjust suggested date.

This is slowly morphing into PT sessions I did while in special operations. The next evolution is for someone to DIY a worm sandbag kinda like this: https://talonathletic.com/products/talo ... rm-sandbag

@Dave - 7/13 is good for me. I can throw a 16k bell in my car. I did a mile with it again last week, after a mile with my 35lb weight vest. That was relatively challenging, maybe a 7/10 effort. I might try a 20k bell this week.

@Jean - Fair. It's often I'll head to the gym as the housekeeper arrives, or after the lawn guys have been out there for hours. They'll still be working when I get home. So not only am I paying someone else to do my labor, I'm paying again to perform fake labor. Funny. I enjoy it though.

@white belt - That thing is better for the guys up in Alaska. Looks brutal.

Walking my 45lb kettlebell went poorly. After a slow 1/4 mile I stopped. Beyond 35lbs my contribution to any distance would be limited. I suspected as much, but wanted to try first.

I should be able to make 7/13 too, and kettlebell or worm are cool. Train gets in at 7:30 or 9:30 and I can hang out at the cafe for anything in between

An 8am start would be good. Beat the heat and sun.

Works for me!

To summarize:

-Sunday July 13th at 8AM
-meet at Downer's Grove Public Library, free parking (https://maps.app.goo.gl/CvGUrzWcKN3oTZzH9)
-@jacob bringing the 52lb kettelbell, @Scott 2 bringing a 16kg kb, we all take turns carrying to ability
-I'll bring a towel for drying the bell as needed
-numerous 5-10k loops, so ability to scale walk to desired distance, change bells, etc.

Looking forward to it!
