OTOH I find myself fantasizing(yes FANTASIZING) about going back to the corporate office as a tech executive in September.
When I do this, it's not that I necessarily want to go back to the office, rather, the fantasy is in its core about predictability, stability, safety, control over the situation. Not surprising at all one would find oneself wanting something safe, predictable, and known given what you and your family just went through.

@Scott 2, thanks for your kind words!
@ertyu, that's a very interesting POV. I think the desire for control and stability is likely why I'm having these fantasies.

General update on the situation:
Overall things are really looking up. My wife finished her Mental Health Full day program and has transitioned into a half day program that will run until the end of July. In tandem with the mental health treatment, she got her amputated leg casted for a prosthetic and we are approximately 3 weeks away from receiving the prosthetic leg. The kids are out of school and I'm enjoying the extra time that I have with them every day. Things are definitely starting to get back to normal and normal is a great feeling. We're going to spend the month of August going on road trips and I'm tentatively set to return to my corporate job in September.

Financial Update:

Ok so now onto the numbers for June.

First the Income:

So June was a great month in terms of Investment and Real Estate gains. It is also the last month where I can still receive FMLA payments. Also our tax refunds came in June instead of May due to me filing the taxes much later in April than usual.

Now the expenses:

So we continued with the streamlined budget in June. And it seems like $4500/month is a very comfortable budget for our family. Neither my wife or the kids are complaining about it. I think we might have just finished adjusting to the new normal. If anything, we might not even spend that much money.
