I have been reading Jacob Lund Fisker's book about Extreme Retirement, and it has completely shattered my worldview—in a good way. That's how I ended up here.
I’m an expat in Denmark, working as a cybersecurity consultant. For me, it's not even about extreme retirement. I want to start small and begin to decouple from the lifestyle I currently lead. I spend most of my time working remotely in front of a computer, and I feel like I’m becoming alienated from the real world.
A few days ago, my neighbor took raw materials like wood and just built a fence himself. All I do all day is click buttons, read technical documentation, and try to appear smart in front of various clients. I probably wouldn’t even know how to build that fence.
I want to become a Renaissance man instead and find like-minded people here. Looking forward to it!
