jacob said: mission statements are supposed to summarize how you get things done i.e. how to get from where you are to your "vision statement" i.e. where you want to go.
I think I did pretty well with mine, but my Vision Statement 7 Year Skin (2015-2022) shall be: My vision is the creation of an example of practicable urban perma-culture producing 2000/lbs of human nourishment/year on less than .5 acres with free, balanced, fair, quality of life maximized, cash and trash minimized, trade across boundaries.

"Do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with my God?"

I don't know. I tend to ignore stuff like that and focus on what's around me.

after much of a lifetime spent scrounging and cutting corners so that I wouldn't die broke, I now find that a remote possibility.

So the mission statement at 75 has become "Keep moving, have fun and don't die rich!"

I'll risk posting something unrefined. Best I can tell, how I operate is:

Learn, connect, and share.

Mine would be something like

“Avoid stupid”

Its good but not great, meaning that while companies usually both act and think exactly the opposite of their mission statement, I only usually act in contradiction to it
