I texted a Portland forum member (@Zarathustra) to let her know about this meetup. Maybe she'll be interested. (I don't think she has been on the forums for quite a long time, but maybe she'll want to go)

If my plans for coming to Portland on the 19th fall through, I'll try to make it. We're not super bar people though and I might have my two year old, would that place work for him? I'm sure DH wouldn't mind watching him.....

I love the apple festival!!! I have been to it many times. If we do come into town the 19th, maybe we can meet up then? We won't be into pdx until the afternoon as we have our last farmers market of the year that morning. I do think DH would like the zoo, not sure he's ever been to that one.

Maybe I'll just pm you as it gets closer?

Any last minute additions? Any west side residents that need a ride?

I think Riggerjack mentioned he might make the drive as well.

He’s always the life of the party.

Hope it is fun, I won't make it. But maybe another meet up near Thanksgiving might work?

None of you brought the green book to wave around? 8-) Alternatively, writing ERE on a piece of paper and putting it on the table usually works.

Westgate was good. Many places that would be interesting are a bit noisy for chatting, but two of the McMenamins which work well for meetups and are an easy bus ride from downtown are:
McMenamins Hillsdale Brewery & Public House
McMenamins Barley Mill Pub

Cimorene, if you haven't been to a McMenamins yet, there's an upscale one, The Market Street Pub, that you can walk to at 10th & Market. McMenamins schtick is they all have different décor while the menu & bar are similar. Barley Mill, for instance, is a shrine to the Grateful Dead, a distinct contrast to Market Street Pub!

Josephine, it will be fun to read your journal once you start it <hint>.

Wish I could have stayed a bit longer as both Josephine and cimorene12 are interesting and fun to be around.
