Only one other chickpea lover?!

I'm going with chickpeas and lentils, because they're so versatile.

But I am boring and eat 'em with rice, mostly.

Chickpea and great northern bean are the main two I eat and like.

Chickpea masala, yummy ! and I really enjoy making French-Canadian "bine" in maple syrup with great northern bean. So satisfying after a long day x-c skiing (I know, I know winter is over)

Black bean and rice "à la mexican" is quite good too and is often on my menu.

In Order of Usage and most common dishes:

Black Beans - Stir Frys + Burritos + burgers + anything else I don't use other legumes for
Lentils - Curried (by themselves), stews, sometimes chilis
Chickpeas - Chana anything (masala and coconut flavoured curry-ish with some kind of sweet side/topping is my fav), sometimes salads
Pinto - mash up with a lot of fat for refried goodness (rare)

DS and DWs favs are lentils and there is a hatred in my household for kidney beans so they are avoided.

Dry split peas, I love a rich split pea and coconut milk soup.

Dry garbanzo beans / chickpeas are the runner up. There are so many tasty ways to prepare them, chana masala, hummus, and in salads.

Green beans. I will steam them and add some salted butter.

My favorite legume is a fresh cup of coffee. Comes from the coffee bean family.

I’m not sure that it’s my favorite, but I’m still learning about how to incorporate soybeans (as a suitable meat substitute in my high protein diet). I cooked them according to directions online in an instapot and then seasoned them and mixed them with rice. They were edible and didn’t cause me any GI issues, which was the purpose of the experiment. Now I need to find some good recipes. I think I might try a curry recipe or some kind of Mexican recipe like others have linked in this thread.

black bean to rule them all
lentilles de puy aka french lentils in classic preparation or as lentil paté
the holy garbanzo from a cocido madrileño to hummus to soccà
spanish peanuts (with the red skin and nuttier flavor) for snack
valencia peanut butter as a sauce base for many applications
green peas, with butter and pepper and a bit of thinly sliced shallots
split yellow peas, as a mash
pinto bean strictly as refried beans
small red bean in red beans and rice
miso and tamari as the only tasty soybean for me. eta: also, tempeh. also, i'm warming up to tofu again.
