Interview with an Englishman

Post by Mister Imperceptible »

I am going to be speaking with someone from England regarding job opportunities, presumably in England or elsewhere in Europe.

How should fluctuating exchange rates factor in my thought process and negotiation for compensation?

Brexit? Eurozone crisis? Other considerations?

Those things yes. Also interest rates. The dollar is so strong right now because we keep raising rates and so traders borrow in other currencies and make loans in dollars, but a lot of pressure is being put on the fed to stop.

You could compare what you would earn in US.
Or you could look up the median wage for that kind of job and then add some margin of safety (regarding Brexit, currency fluctuations, etc)
Or you could compare it to living costs where you would live.

Requesting USD compensation likely makes the most sense.
