Re: Bicycles
You can likely reuse the spokes. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/brandt/reusing-spokes.html
Also, rims can be had for $12USD and up if you buy from parts suppliers. In the US, I've mainly used these guys

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure what can be done as it's an electric bike and the motor is in the hub. I'm using 100% pedal power now - i.e. the other bike. Previously it was about 50/50. I'm thinking about upgrading my bikes at some point as well but I think it's one of those things to dream about for a long time rather than do anything.

steveo73. If you're giving up you're welcome to mail the parts to me!
There are 3 parts to a wheel - rim, hub, spokes. Surely not all three are integrated?

Re: Bicycles
I'm doing something else. I'm returning it to my FIL and get him to get it fixed. I'm a nice guy though - he offered me a replacement bike and I said he didn't have to bother.JL13 wrote:steveo73. If you're giving up you're welcome to mail the parts to me!

I am though thinking about buying a good quality e-bike at some point. The problem with the ones my FIL gets is that they are cheap and require a fair bit of maintenance. It'd be good to get one that requires less work. Then again maybe because e-bikes are typically heavier they are just harder to maintain.
Re: Bicycles
I am thinking about buying this bike with the add ons for load both in front and back.
