Perhaps nothing is permanent in the forever sense BRUTE, but some things last longer than others. I think, in the context of this thread, the idea should be to find the sources of happiness that provide the most happiness over the longest period of time while minimizing (or best yet eliminating) the harm done to others; yes?

After you wrote in my journal I discovered that you live in the DACH region. In some ways your first journal post resonated with me a bit.

How is your progress along the journey towards ERE? And how is it possible for you to have almost "ZERO" expenses? Could you share your thoughts on that?

brute definitely recommends travel for a while. it will eventually get boring, like everything. but definitely worth it. brute recommends countries with non-potable tap water, they're more fun.

Some country aren't contamined by this giant monoculture. At least Moldova, Kyrgyzystan, and Ivory Coast aren't. There are probably others. And in many other places (most of the world id'e guess), If you spend more time (months instead of weeks), you will see that's it's just a quite thin layer of monoculture, and that below it, people still have their own identity.

It also depends a lot where you stay. Even in places that are generally very different to our own it's easy to go to a resort location which is nothing like the local culture and never experience something all that different from any other location.

I do understand the feeling of having done a decent bit of travelling in your youth and not having that feeling of needing to travel all over the place anymore. There are a few places I would like to eventually visit, but I'm in no rush.
