Just some more numbers, as that is always fun to read.
I started registering my NW in detail since last april:

NW:
April 2016: 24.900 euro
May 2016: 26.800 euro
June 2016: 24.300 euro
July 2016: 24.800 euro
August 2016: 26.000 euro
September 2016: 27.600 euro

April, June and July all had (major) bills for the new house. 1st phase of changes to the house was finished around July.
New phase will start somewhere end of this year.

So set some targets I would like to reach within the next year or 2.
- 1) 10.000 Euro stock portfolio (probably index trackers)
- 2) 50.000 Euro NW
- 3) Paying off 2 "family bank" loans of 10.000 euro each (tax friendly variant for a mortgage)
- 4) 2.500 Euro p2p lending portfolio
- 5) Cash buffer of 2.000 euro (like REAL cash)
- 6) 5.000 euro savings account

Code: Select all

Progress:
1) 0% - 0 euro
2) 55% - 27.600 euro
3) 0% - -20.000 euro
4) 29% - 725 euro
5) 78% - 1.565 euro
6) 28% - 1.375 euro

Upped the ante!

Reset the targets for 1 Jan 2018, they are very ambitious now.
But that is for me to keep focus and prove to myself that I am all-in for this.

New targets + their current value:
1) 10k euro stock portfolio: 0 euro (0%)
2) 100.000 euro NW: 30.000 euro (30%)
3) Paying off 2 family loans (20k total): 20k left (0%)
4) 2,5k euro p2p portfolio: 735 euro (29%)
5) 2,5k euro cash buffer: 1565 euro (63%)
6) 5k euro savings account: 1626 (33%)

Also, today I announced to the company I work for as a freelancer that I will quit working in about 5-6 weeks. Currently I work 24 hours for them each week (for a few years now) and it is time for me to give more time to my own projects. I still have another company that makes me more then enough money (without actual hours put in).
It is a bit risky, but it will give me great pleasure and time to improve some projects... More on that in a later stage :)

1 nov
Current NW is 28.470 euro.

Targets:
1) 10k euro stock portfolio: 0 euro (0%)
2) 100.000 euro NW: 28.470 euro (28.5%)
3) Paying off 2 family loans (20k total): 20k left (0%)
4) 2,5k euro p2p portfolio: 738 euro (29.5%)
5) 2,5k euro cash buffer: 1565 euro (63%)
6) 5k euro savings account: 200 (4%)

Used the savings account for some interest payments on 2 mortgage loans. (1500 euro) almost all will come back (750 directly and 750 next year with the tax returns). NW lowered with that 1.500 euro aswel, otherwise I would be at 30K.

This weekend we started on replacing our kitchen. This will be a massive undertaking, probably taking 6 months... We currently broke down half of the kitchen, will have to break open the floor on 2 places to strengthen the foundation. A new load baring construction will be placed and we will remove 1 wall and 2 support pillars. Then we will have to wait untill the concrete is dry to fix the wooden floor again. When the floor is in we need to sand the whole floor and re-oil it. Then we need to do all the walls and ceiling with plaster... When that is dry we can set the new kitchen and we are done. Oh, also need to do some electric work and put the sewer in another place, divert some water lines... :)

Also, I figured I "suffer" from a Bore-out. Not feeling well for a while now (=years). Somebody mentioned a bore-out. Never heard of that, so started looking into that. Turns out I can relate to it... The symptoms are similar to a burn-out, but the reason is different.

So I decided to stop freelancing as a developer for a while. Focussing on the good thiungs in life. Planning to pick up sports again and be more out-side. Just enjoy life a bit more, like a pre-retirement :)
Really looking forward to that. Good thing is I still have my other company, that does not take a lot of my time. So I will still be able to pay my bills...

Quick update of my shortterm targets 1 December 2016:

10.000 euro Stock portfolio: € 100.00 (1%) +€ 100
100.000 euro NW: € 32,788.01 (33%) +€ 4.318
Paying off 2 family bank loans: -€ 20,000.00 (0%)
2.500 euro p2p portfolio: € 835.16 (33%) +€ 97
Cash buffer 2.500 euro: € 2,030.00 (81%) +€ 465
5.000 euro savings account: € 2,555.00 (51%) +€ 2.355

I just started with my stock portfolio... (Hurray!) It will just be a basket of worldwide indexes with auto-invest of dividents.
Think that is best for me, as I have no real knowledge about stock markets etc. Indexes are easy and do not require my input.

NW spiked over 4.000 euro, which is nice :)
Even more when you know the value of my gold + silver holdings dropped with € 520 euro in november... :? (glad it is still 4,6% up since jan 1st)

Next months will not be adding this much, as I stopped with making freelance hours. (Which I still do not regret!)
Best thing ever is to just walk the dog around 08:00 in the morning when everybody is rushing to work... and do it again around 18:00 to see them all return again.

I have written more code the last 2 weeks, then the 3 months before that. My head is clear and my creativity is slowly returning.
Also started going to the gym (which I always hated) 2x a week with a good friend. It is actually a lot of fun! (did not expect that at all)
Let's see how this is going in abt a month ;)

Hopefully I can update you guys in a few months about my other plans.

Targets, since 1 december 2016 up to 31 january 2017

10.000 euro Stock portfolio: € 754.00 (8%) + € 654
100.000 euro NW: € 37,547.00 (38%) + € 4.759
Paying off 2 family bank loans: -€ 20,000.00 (0%)
2.500 euro p2p portfolio: € 1,161.20 (46%) + € 326.04
Cash buffer 2.500 euro: € 2,000.00 (80%) - € 30
5.000 euro savings account: € 6,646.00 (133%) + € 4.091

So, when I check things as they are now... The main target for 1 jan 2018 of 100.000 euro NW will not be met. I am still not freelancing, so 7 days of the week I get to plan as I like. Last month I added about 1.100 euro.

10k stock portfolio will be hard, will probably land somewhere between 3k - 5k end of year
The p2p target I will complete, schema is created on how to get at 2.500 euro end of year.
Family banks I will not pay off (it gives tax benefits still)
Cash buffer and savings account will both probably not be met end of year, as we are doing a lot of maintenance to the house.
- 2 new stairs (± 3.000 euro)
- Floor repairs after the modifications (± 2.500 euro)
- Plastering the ceiling and some walls (± 1.750 euro
- painting the walls and the ceiling (1.500 euro)
