Last week I talked to a friend, who is a psychotherapist, about my goals and why I make progress at 2 of 3 goals (better communication and dieting/fasting), but struggle with the other goal (money).
He asked a lot of questions, finally I found out, that the goal of "I will save up my 1x annual expenses" doesn't spark a flame in me.
I actually think that having more money as an endgoal would lead to some nasty behaviours, e.g. becoming too comfortable and lazy.
I don't want to lie on the beach, I want to connect with other people, build helpful stuff and find some brotherhood.
Therefore I change my goal, because my current goal doesn't fit my values.
I want to:
- move to a bigger city, because I want to make connections easier (more people, more opportunities)
=> To live in a bigger city, I need around 5.000€ (initial investment for ~3 months)
=> I will search for a remote software engineering gig for 1 month, which will give me a net income of ~2.5-3.0k€ (KPI: sent applications)
=> I will publish a lot more content (KPI: hours written, articles published, followers)
=> I have to get rid of "busy work" like learning, because it doesn't solve a current problem, but gives me a sense of "important work done" (KPI: "bad" hours)
What's your opinion on this?
