I also feel the need to pull the trigger and use this online Journal to keep track of some of my numbers and reflections. I am not well known around here, but I have been a long time lurker, and feel as though I need to start making some more contributions to pay back some of you for all the wisdom you have shared.
I am 22 years old and a university student in Canada. I will be graduating in December completely debt free. For the past three years, in addition to my studies, I have been working in the restaurant industry as a waiter. This has allowed me to acquire some money.
For personality type, I have taken numerous tests and the majority have told me I am an INFJ or INFP, but I have also come up as INTP, or INFP. I don't solidly fit into any of them.
I am young so I do value going out to party a fair amount, dining, and having fun with the girlfriend. Right now clothes, electronics, cars, etc are not where my priorities lie. I like the experiences.
Here are my numbers:
-$3456 in an RRSP (I believe 401k equivalent in the USA)
-$4254 in a TFSA (I think its also equivalent to Roth IRA in the States).
-$5200 in cash savings (Some is still to be used for the rest of my udegree, and I would like to travel somewhere for a few months when I graduate).
-Current passive income from investments per month: $33.81
Networth: $12,910
Current monhtly fixed Expenses:
-Condo I share with my sister and her husband $500
-Cell phone $40 (unless I do some long distance calling)
-Internet $48
Fixed Expenses total: $588
Variable expenses;
- Usually eating and drinking out $?
-Food I eat at home $?
- Everything else (Random textbooks, Girlfriend, books, late charges on library and stuff) $?
I need to find out and cut down on my variable expenses. I generally use a visa for everything to acquire some reward points to go to the movies (I love movies.)
Thanks for reading. I will mull over some goals in the meantime.

@George I will be graduating with a degree in history with a minor in business. I may take some flack for this but I switched out of business this last year because I couldn't stand it anymore. My strengths weren't being used and I felt I was not growing in any way.
I still intend to enter corporate life when I graduate, geared more to personal finance I think, but I feel the switch has served me well, and I am more well rounded because of it.

Well this month has been a brutal one. Why?
-Broke up with Girlfriend
-Paid for flight tickets to a family reunion
-Scholarship funding fell through for school, and have to wait a bit longer
-Out of control spending due to social activities (partly brought on by girlfriend)
So I am doubtful for the prospect of saving a lot this month. I cannot wait to finally graduate and be able to snag a "real job" paycheck to really get underway.
Have any of you had to end a relationship not purely for ERE reasons, but it was hampering you with your financial goals? My girlfriend was wanting to go out for dinner and drink in all kinds of social situations all the time because she felt like we had become too anti-social. She was trying to mask some of our faults by hanging out with other people. It drove me crazy.
My goals right now are:
1)To continue to build up my savings from my job at the restaurant.
2)Just get college done with.
2)Save for Europe.
3)Determine how to snag a fairly decent job in my field of interest and build up that fancy resume, and pretend like I will work at a company forever.
