Why did you buy a car?

Having lived with a car and without a car I realize I value personal car ownership. It is a selfish convenience and one I am willing to pay for at this time.

Q1 2022

Q1 S.R. . . . .-> 60.55%
NW YTD . . . -> 6.47%

(will comeback and add TTM Expenses and SWR)

Most recently read books:
-> Atlas Shrugged
-> The Drunkard's Walk

Currently Reading:
-> The Aeneid
-> Deep Nutrition

New idea in practice:
- Each day I write three ideas to improve my life by 1% - heard this on a podcast. Can be physical, mental, financial etc. I write them in my phone and compile them on a spreadsheet. When I'm bored or don't know what to do, I pick something from the list. Internet scrolling has gone down drastically.

Atlas Shrugged is one of my favorite books. My first experience with it was listening to it on a cross country drive to start my military career, and I was blown away. I thought it had been written very recently because it seemed so timely....it obviously wasn't.

If you liked it, you may want to check out The Fountainhead. It's a "better book" as a read in my opinion, but not nearly as important

@MBBboy, I've put Fountainhead on my books-to-be-read list.

I think Atlas Shrugged is now currently one of my favorite books as well. I would find it interesting to read a criticism of Atlas Shrugged, I found myself 'agreeing' with the story so much it would be helpful to read a different interpretation. If you have any recommendations please let me know.

Q2 2022

Q2 S.R. . . . . . . -> 42.09%
S.R. YTD . . . . .-> 49.13%
NW YTD. . . . . .-> 12.67%

Miscellaneous thoughts:
-> Prepaid a few late-summer trips which hurt the savings rate
->I've been daydreaming about living on a sailboat

Note for future self about my current mindset: I have been coasting this year - falling into the high income trap, playing pretend. I'm not really pushing myself to progress & develop a well rounded skill set. I feel like I've snapped out of my trance and am ready to make efforts to progress to the next level.
