I've been employing the theme of maximizing visa-exempt entry time by moving just as a visa-exempt entry is about to expire. I'm now in Thailand and it is the rainy season. I feel down here, I'm in a condo with a kitchen and have food in my home now which means I don't have to leave for food like before. I'm also not in a walkable area, especially when rain comes. I have 2 more weeks before I have to move. I was planning to move back to where it's walkable, albeit, another part of town that I haven't lived in yet. But the rains make it unpleasant.

I was looking into living in Hanoi but it's rainy af there too.

Kuala Lumpur has a direct flight from my town and has its dry season now. It seems to have tons of cool things to do and explore there so it's calling my name more.

Am I obsessing too much about maximizing time between flights to the cost of my happiness or is it a better idea to wait it out and delay leaving for another 6 weeks instead of planning now to leave in 2 weeks?

I couldn't tell you. But being in the PNW, I know rain. And people who don't handle it well. I will tell you what I tell them. It's rain. It doesn't care about you. You need to learn to love it, (and I understand that could be difficult) or go somewhere that it won't be a problem for you. The world is full of dry places, where the thermonuclear fireball in the sky will love you and burn you. If that's the sky you want, go there. Save yourself the misery, and leave the moss and slugs to those who can appreciate them.

If that doesn't work for you, the only other advice I have is to learn to be stoic in your suffering. People in the rain, complaining about the rain, deserve to fall in a puddle.

Which is my less than kind-hearted way of saying that you are free, do what you like, like what you do.

I'm not sure how expensive it will be to move in two weeks. Will it just cost $100 more in visa costs, on average, over the year? If so, I'd do it. If the costs are say $2000+, then I would stick it out for four more weeks...

Also I would say: you live and you learn. You are now learning that you don't like this, so you now know more about what you don't and do like, and you can adapt and make better plans for the future (for example for next year...). Sometimes learning new things cost a bit of money, so perhaps you can see the extra costs as your college fee for this year...
