The Strange World of Gurney Slade

Post by George the original one »

Gurney Slade (played by Anthony Newly) walks off a sitcom set and into a world where rocks, dogs, cows, garbage cans, babies, & ants speak to consider the topics of life. He's looking for answers, but finds the world is surreal, absurd, trivial and bewildering. Shown in 1960, the series was ahead of its time and, unfortunately, only a mini-series.

Episode 1 is basically how I envision day 0 of FI. Start with a walkoff, make up a language, talk to a dog.... yup, sounds about right.

Thanks for sharing this.
