When wearing long socks, should you pull them up all the way?

Post by BeyondtheWrap »

I have a lot of socks whose elastic has stretched out over time.

Since my calves are wider than my ankles, I wonder if pulling my socks up all the way causes the elastic to wear out faster. But then, pushing them down to the ankles might also be bad because of the fabric bunching up and stretching itself out?

I know the fashionable thing to do is to pull them up all the way. Assuming no one is looking, what way of wearing socks will make them last the longest?

Google "Sock Garters" and never worry about your falling socks again. The best ones go above the calves. If you need to wear socks with shorts, then buy ankle/booty socks.

When I’m at home, I roll my socks halfway down my foot so I’m walking around with my toes covered but my heels exposed. I don’t do this for ERE purposes, I just like the feeling-it’s the walking Version of sleeping under the blankets with an exposed leg hanging out.

I have not noticed that this type of use causes any more wear on the socks.
