I don't think I would miss a washing machine when just washing my clothes. However, it might become useful for larger items like sheets, duvets and such.

One thing I will go without is the dryer. We hang all our clothes in a clothing rack and they get dry within 24 hours. It is good for the environment and for your clothes (and cheaper)

sheets are fine without a washing machine. a duvet might be too much, though. but i'm thinking, i'd much rather go to the laundromat for my duvet and my winter jacket once a year than get a washing machine.
