I didn't see the vids, I'm getting shy about YouTube links. The Google engineer being interviewed by joe Rogan turned into a 5gb charge I didn't recognize until the data charges hit...

But looking at the Wikipedia page on the oroville dam sums it up nicely. No real problem, lots of drama, because the pictures looked good. Oh and unheeded environmental objections, as though there isn't an unheeded environmental spamming of every project requiring construction or maintenance for the last 50 years.

@Riggerjack, depending on how you watch youtube (app, firefox, etc) there may be a browser extension (or app setting or sitewide setting) you can use to auto-force certain settings like video quality, to curb data usage. For chrome there is "Magic Actions for Youtube." If I'm not mistaken, for the Android app it remembers your selection from last time. A 144p or 240p video is pretty small, even for my 2GB monthly plan (though I usually try to do "watch later" and view it on wifi).
