Make Your Own Superfood Powder

Post by cmonkey »

I'm curious if anyone makes anything along these lines.
1 pound alfalfa powder
1 pound dulse powder
1 pound spinach leaf powder
1 pound rosehips powder
1 pound orange peel powder
1 pound lemon peel powder
1 pound barley grass powder
1 pound spirulina powder
1 pound chlorella powder
1 pound wheat grass powder
1 pound beet root powder
1 pound nutritional yeast (Red Star)
1 pound acerola cherry powder
You can buy all of these things and more from this site.

I did the math and I could make that exact recipe for nearly 33% less than what I currently pay for 'vitamin mix' which is really unhealthy by comparison (full of additives and such).

Does anyone do anything similar to this or have any suggestions?

I drink whey protein. It gives me bigger muscles than that orange peel bullshit.

So... if you added it to your list, it would be a supererfood powder.

Sounds like you are working on astronaut food to set yourself up for the next SpaceX missions? ;-)

Seriously, it would be nice to develop your own nutritonal powder/smoothy that covers most of the macros and micros for the day.
The result would be batch-blending-extreme (or short: BBE ;-)): Have some powder that you can be produced cheaply, conveniently stored and cover 90%+ of your regular nutrition needs.

I am just weary of so many websites advertising the next superfood. Maybe we have some nutritionists among us that could chime in?
I would like to learn about some more basics, especially if you are looking to create your own product that you expect to cover most of your needs.
